Wellspring for Girls Volunteer Trainings Wellspring for Girls, in partnership with other child service organizations, cares for girls (ages 12 - 17) who have been devastated by forced prostitution. Wellspring Living offers a therapeutic and educational day program for abuse survivors. Because of the delicate nature of working with these girls, we must require that individuals interested in working with the Wellspring for Girls Program, be required to go through this online training and a face-to-face follow up meeting. This training is made of 12 steps that educate a volunteer on the problem of trafficking and forced prostitution, the nature of personhood, how trauma affects survivors, practical issues and solutions for volunteers, and much more. There are training videos, reading, short quizes, a background check, a 1-hour follow up meeting and other helpful resources. Upon completion of this training, volunteers will be more fully equipped to understand and participate in relationships with survivors. Regular volunteer opportunities that are available include Academic Mentorship, Teaching Lifeskills Classes, Facilitating Celebration Lunches or Fieldtrips and others. Most volunteer opportunities take place from 8:30 AM - 5 PM. Please also consider the practicality of volunteering when the Wellspring for Girls Cottage is about 15 minutes south of the Airport on I-85. If you choose to sign up for this online training course, you may fill out the application to the right. After submitting your $35 payment for the training and background check, you will receive a link to the training site, a login name and password for your training within 3 business days.
