Wellspring Living's Passion for Justice on WSB-TV September 30, 2009
Here in Georgia more young girls between the ages of 11 and 17 are affected by forced prostitution in one month than are killed by car accidents in one year. Wellspring Living offers a safe place for women and girls who are survivors of this trauma. But the nonprofit can't do it alone and its organizers are hoping through the art of dance, others will develop a passion for justice. Passion for Justice, a dance performance that tells the story of a trafficked girl who find redemption will be performed on October 4 at 6:30 pm at Perimeter Church in Duluth.

Man gets 30 years for pimping teen runaway August 6, 2009
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that an Atlanta man who pimped out a 14-year-old runawa y he met on Metropolitan Avenue pleaded guilty Thursday morning and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Ballard met the 14-year-old girl in 2005 and she moved in with him. He had sex with her, beat and pistol-whipped her. Eventually he began to prostitute her, sending her out to Metropolitan Avenue to solicit men. The victim’s mother spotted her on the street in 2006 and called police. Ballard was soon arrested.

Fox 5 News Reports FBI, Atlanta Fight Child Prostitution July 22, 2009
For years, Atlanta has been called a hub for child prostitution. Now, the FBI has teamed up with local law enforcement to help stop the victimization of young girls. Wellspring Living, which runs a home to help adults, recently opened a home just for children rescued from the street. The girls in the home perform chores, cook meals and work on school work. The home's executive director Mary Frances Bowley said the girls learn what it is like to have a healthy, family-like relationship.

Senate Bill 69 expands mandatory child abuse reporting, including suspected instances of prostituted children. Having sex, knowingly or unknowingly, with an underage prostitute is child abuse, and legislation signed by Gov. Sonny Perdue today ensures mandatory child abuse reporters must report victims of sexual exploitation in all cases – not just those instances where a "parent or caretaker" is suspected.

Nahmias said of the indictment, “The use of internet websites like ‘Craigslist’ to facilitate the sexual exploitation of minors is a growing problem.
